Is it the Third Seal?

When I first began this website and blog, the now familiar “credit crunch” - or as the papers are now calling it, the CRASH of 2008 - was just a possibility looming in the background. Today it’s established fact.

It’s hard to know just where to start listing the evidence. Shall I mention the housing market, food prices, fuel, astounding increases in energy bills, the wheat harvest failing or being overtaken by a doomed attempt to produce bio-fuels in its place…every day the newspapers bring us more warnings of a recession, especially in the UK which is so heavily in debt that nothing can save her now.

The reason I started the website was because ten years ago I knew something like this could and would happen (although not knowing when) and I wanted to put it into a biblical perspective. You see, as those of you who have read my website will know, I believe we are in the time of Revelation’s sealed scroll, and the first two seals have already been opened. Thus the third seal with its poverty and want, in my understanding, wwas bound to make a showing sooner or later.

The good news is that, as with the other seals, the effects will be limited, although not by much. The bad news is that - since this is a judgement sent from Heaven on a mission to shake us into recognising the sovereignty and power of God - it cannot be avoided or worked at or wished away. Mankind has sunk its boats at last, and acted in defiance of God once too often.
