"2012 Olympics Opening & Closing Ceremonies" by Tricia Tillin

Part One: Raising a fist in the face of God

Temple worship of Zeus, is the NEW hope for mankind's unity and prosperity!

Index to the Three Parts

I have hesitated to write about what I perceived in the London Olympics opening and closing ceremonies. I didn't want to join a chorus of nit-picking just for the sake of it, feeling there's nothing to be gained from pointing out that people in the world who are riddled with mistaken spiritual attitudes are inevitably going to create something contrary to biblical truth as a matter of course.

While identifying significant pagan and mythological themes in the ceremonies (as well as subliminal socialist propaganda) I maintained my attitude throughout the Games until I chanced to watch the closing ceremony.

Apart from it being tedious to see the parade of British rock groups trying to perform in tune, I found it stuffed with references to the glorious human race being able to wave its fist in the face of God and shout "who needs YOU?"

I reached a point of deep sadness towards the end, watching the blatant self-adulation of so many thousands, proclaiming themselves in song "rulers of the world" as they saw a blazing phoenix rise from the many-petalled fire of the olympic flame.

From this fire-born phoenix the "spirit of the flame" descended into the mortal realm mimicking as closely as possible the crucifixion without overplaying this parody of the redemption.

We had already witnessed the Monty Python star Eric Idle performing his song "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" which in the movie "The Life of Brian" he sang while hanging on the cross!

Not only the thousands present in the flesh but perhaps billions around the world watched the ceremonies on TV. Many more will see them on subsequent digital media. How better to reach the entire world with a new message?

"The first essential characteristic of the Olympics, both ancient as well as modern, is to be a religion. It represents, above and outside the Churches, humanity's superior religion." Baron de Coubertin.

The message I watched removed God from not only Britain's past but the world's future. He was not given one iota of recognition or praise for the many blessings we have received over the centuries in this country. Indeed, the height of evangelism and missionary endeavour of the 19th and early 20th century was entirely reduced to a bleak, black and "satanic" nightmare called "pandemonium".

It was then my spirit was so offended that I felt I did need to write after all.

Summary

Here is the result of some of my researches, and I acknowledge the work of others on the Net, but beyond the blatant paganism and idolatrous symbolism I felt there was a challenge to the sovereignty of God at this time, a rejoicing in man's own strength and ability, and a desire for self-rule.

It was a pitch for the reign of the Antichrist, who is more than anything else the culmination of HUMANITY rather than divine authority. He is the epitome of arrogance, and defiance towards God, not only proclaiming himself as 'god' in the temple - according to the bible - but going further still in teaching mankind to worship its OWN godhood, of which he will be the supreme example.

Therefore let's look at the ceremonies in that light, as well as explore the references to the ancient gods.

Background History of Zeus and the Olympics

"Olympia, the town where [the Olympic Games] were held, was devoted to the worship of Zeus, who was "the sky- and weather-god of the ancient Greeks, whose name and functions correspond to those of the Latin Jupiter." (The Olympic Spirit p. 11. Britannica, Vol. 23, p. 962).

"The Olympic Games were founded (according to tradition) in 776 BCE and held every four years in honour of Zeus.(Olympia, Encyclopedia Mythica.) In the beginning, the games were few, and were held in less than a day. However, by the sixth century B.C. there were 13 events, and the contests lasted several days. (The Olympic Spirit..., pp. 11-12).

Thus the Olympic Games were pagan festivals for believers in the polytheistic Greek pantheon. "By the fifth century B.C., Olympia was the holiest place of ancient Greece," because so much religious ritual was tied to the games. (Pursuit of Excellence, The Olympic Story, p. 24, 1979, published by Grolier Enterprises, Inc.).

The games lasted well over 1,000 years, until A.D. 394. Early in the fourth century, Christianity had become the official religion of the Roman Empire. In 394, Roman emperor Theodosius I forbade all pagan worship. Saying they went against the spirit of Christianity, he included the Olympic games in his prohibition.

Most of us know the pagan origins of the Olympic games. We know of the 'gods of Mount Olympus', the vestal virgins (keepers of the Eternal Flame) in the ancient altar to Hera, and the symbols associated with the games.

The Jesuit-schooled Baron Pierre de Coubertin was the reviver of the Olympic Games and founder of the International Olympic Committee. According to Coubertin the five rings symbolised the five continents, and the ideal of peace and brotherhood of the whole planet.

The Olympic Flame

  • The god Prometheus, legend has it, stole fire from the gods and brought wisdom and knowledge to humankind.
  • Several months before each Games, the flame is ignited at the ruins of the Temple of Hera  in Olympia, where the Ancient Olympic Games were held. A fire was kept burning there to honour Zeus, the supreme ruler in the Greek pantheon.
  • Actresses dressed as priestesses use the sun and a parabolic mirror to light the flame. Carried on foot to Athens in an urn, it is delivered to host-city officials at the Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens.

Baron de Coubertin so loved the religion of the games that his heart was buried in the temple of Apollo in Olympia. To Coubertin, the Olympian athlete was himself a god. In an 1892 proposal of the revival of the games, Coubertin said, "The first essential characteristic of the Olympics, both ancient as well as modern, is to be a religion. It represents, above and outside the Churches, humanity's superior religion."

Olympic Anthem

Although the Olympic Anthem sung today has been "cleaned up" and made more bland, it is still based on the original shown below. Could there be any doubt to whom these Games are dedicated?

Literal Version:

O Ancient immortal Spirit, pure father
Of beauty, of greatness and of truth,
Descend, reveal yourself and flash like lightning here,
within the glory of your own earth and sky.

At running and at wrestling and at throwing,
Shine in the momentum of noble contests,
And crown with the unfading branch
And make the body worthy and ironlike. (twice)

Plains, mountains and seas glow with you
Like a white-and-purple great temple,
And hurries at the temple here, your pilgrim, (twice)
O Ancient immortal Spirit, every nation. (twice)

Free translation:

Immortal spirit of antiquity
Father of the true, beautiful and good
Descend, appear, shed over us thy light
Upon this ground and under this sky
Which has first witnessed thy unperishable fame

Give life and animation to these noble games!
Throw wreaths of fadeless flowers to the victors
In the race and in the strife
Create in our breasts, hearts of steel!

In thy light, plains, mountains and seas
Shine in a roseate hue and form a vast temple
To which all nations throng to adore thee
Oh immortal spirit of antiquity!

Modern Sung Version:

Olympian flame immortal
Whose beacon lights our way
Emblazon our hearts with the fires of hope
On this momentous day

As now we come across the world
To share these Games of old
Let all the flags of every land
In brotherhood unfold

Sing out each nation, voices strong
Rise up in harmony
All hail our brave Olympians
With strains of victory

Olympic light burn on and on
O'er seas and mountains and plains
Unite, inspire, bring honour
To these ascending games

May valour reign victorious
Along the path of golden way

As tomorrow's new champions now come forth
Rising to the fervent spirit of the game
Let splendour pervade each noble deed
Crowned with glory and fame

And let fraternity and fellowship
Surround the soul of every nation

Oh flame, eternal in your firmament so bright
Illuminate us with your everlasting light
That grace and beauty and magnificence

Shine like the ***SUN***
Blazing above
Bestow on us your honour, truth and love

Zeus and Jupiter honoured in the Games

The Olympic Games were above all worship and honour to the god Zeus (Roman Jupiter). It's therefore not surprising that the 2012 Olympics contained numerous references to this god and his emblems.

Ringing in Jupiter

And from the first moment, the Games were "rung in" with Jupiter's rising! Throughout the land, we were urged to ring bells, bang pots, rattle keys or make whatever noise we could from 8.12 to 8.15 on the morning of the 27th.

Few grasped the significance of this strange command, but all is revealed when looking at the skies, because it was precisely at that moment that the planet JUPITER rose above the horizon in London.

Big Ben rang 40 times in three minutes, while church bells, doorbells and even bicycle bells all joined in the performance. It was entitled "Work No 1197"  - "a piece of music for a special occasion." Church bellringers, school groups and thousands of people and organisations registered to take part including the RAF, the National Trust, the National Theatre, the Mayor of London, the Archbishop of Westminster and The Girl Guides Association. In Berwick-upon-Tweed, the ceremony started with a blast on a 12ft-high Celtic war horn, while churches in the Isle Of Man and Northern Ireland all took part. (All The Bells Website)

Satanic Climax

The day (27th July) was also well chosen, for a number of astronomical reasons, but it also coincided with the highpoint of the satanic year.

The Olympic’s Opening Ceremony is on July 27th, or the 'Grand Climax'. This is one of the biggest Satanic holidays, including a sex ritual and a human female sacrifice. There are 7 days (July 20th-27th) of preparation for the Grand Climax, which includes kidnapping and ceremonial preparation on the virgin girl who is set to be sacrificed.

The number 27

Why was the number 27 so prominent throughout the Games? The specially-forged bell, twice the size of that in Big Ben, that was rung to commence the Games weighed 27 tons. It was reported that the opening and closing ceremonies cost the nation 27 million pounds. It is surely no coincidence that this number is considered (by those who believe in such things) to be the MOST SUPREME NUMBER, denoting spiritual wisdom, in the Chaldean Numerology.

A return to the luciferic 'wisdom' that releases mankind from the oppressive rule of the Law of God, and allows him to do as he pleases, is the ultimate aim of all that was preached at these Olympic Ceremonies! Read on to find out more.

Full Moon

The sun and the moon were also choreographed into the Games ceremonies. The sunset provided a dramatic illustration of darkness spreading over Britain when the old ways were extinguished by industrialisation - see more below - and the full moon joined the Olympic rings hung underneath Tower Bridge as if to harmonise with our decision to worship Zeus rather than the God who created all these things.

Ancient Sun Gods

The Olympian ZEUS was part of an ungodly trinity - the Classical Greek Olympic triad of Zeus (king of the gods), Athena (goddess of war and intellect) and Apollo (god of the sun, culture and music). (Helios, the Greek personification of the sun was merged with Apollo and regarded as the same). Apollo was also the god of medicine, music, the arts, poetry and eloquent speaking. The son of Zeus, he was also the sun-god. While Zeus was the sky god, Apollo was the down-to-earth sun in this earthly realm, handsome and muscular.

Apollo is a close parallel with the biblical Antichrist! The false son of a false god! At the opening ceremony he was honoured with references to medicine (the NHS) music (plenty of it), the arts (movies, drama, TV and so on) poetry (Shakespeare) and speeches.

Do you see the parallels with the Trinity, and the Son of God here? This is why I wrote extensively on the connection of Zeus/Apollo with the antichrist rider of the first horse.

The Destroyer

The name Apollo from Greek Απολλων (Apollon),might have derived from Appaliunas, an Anatolian god whose name possibly means "father lion" or "father light". However, the Greeks later associated Apollo's name with the Greek verb απολλυμι (apollymi) meaning "to destroy".

Does it not cause a shudder to see Apollo raised up in honour worldwide when we read that Apollyon is "the angel of the bottomless pit" in Revelation:

Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. (The name is from the Greek, apollunai,  to destroy totally)

Laurel Crown

In addition, note that the first rider of Revelation - a triumphant victor on a white horse - wears the laurel wreath of victory, as given in the Olympic Games.

One modern forerunner of the Antichrist, Adolf Hitler, was also presented with a laurel wreath and pronounced "saviour of his country" by a loyal fan. Here you see Hitler with that wreath pinned up on his wall.

Roman Sun God Jupiter – he was the greatest of all Olympian gods, and the Roman equivalent of Zeus. He was the god of gods, "father of the gods and mankind". In addition to being the source of all heavenly manifestations, he guaranteed order among gods and men. He was the sky-lord, the prince of light; king of Rome, victor, triumphant one, the one who foretold the future in omens and governed all human history according to his will; the Beginning and the End.

Both these gods has as their holy tree THE OAK, and sacred bird THE EAGLE. They indicated their presence with lightning and thunder and bursts of flame.

eye of horus

Egyptian Sun God Ra – Osiris, Isis and Horus are the three attributes of God according to ancient Egyptian knowledge. Therefore, they represent the unholy trinity of Egypt. Horus merged with the god Ra, the personification of the sun - their emblem, the EYE OF HORUS is mentioned below.

Sun Symbols & Sun-God Emblems (all seen in the 2012 Olympic Ceremonies)

EYE - the eye is also depicted as a circle with a dot in the centre, the symbol of the SUN. The "all-seeing" eye is the Eye of Horus, which represents the eye of Egyptian sun-god Horus who lost an eye battling Set. (In reality this is about the fall of Lucifer from his heavenly position, as the "star" fallen from the heavens. Thus the sun-god represents Lucifer, the alternate "sun" of God, just as Apollo is the glorious son of the father-god Zeus.)

  • CIRCLE with DOT in the center:  It represents the sun (astrological symbol) and sun god, See this page which has many illustrations and shows that the symbol is also that of the union of male and female (divine conception). This is also shown as a DISC or CIRCLET as it's fairly obvious that a golden disc or circle would represent the sun. You see one in the hand of Zeus in the photo in the sidebar.
  • PHOENIX - universal symbol of the sun, rebirth, resurrection and immortality, this legendary red "fire bird" was believed to die in itsHera with Lillies self-made flames then rise again out of its own ashes. The same idea lies behind the oak log burnt at the end of one year to be reborn as the new sun in Spring. To alchemists, the firebird symbolized the the destruction and creation of new forms of matter along the way to the ultimate goal: the philosopher's stone (the gold of the sun).
  • EAGLE - symbol of the sun rising in its glory and power. (The Phoenix is a type of the Eagle, born of the fire.) The eagle was famously used on Roman military banners, and also on those of Nazi Germany.
  • LILY - The lily was dedicated to the goddess Hera, the wife of Zeus. The lily will figure prominently in the Opening Ceremony as you'll see. The accompanying picture will become abundantly clear as you read on.

  • TREES - one of the most ancient symbols of the false religion of Lucifer, beginning at the Tree of Wisdom in Eden encircled by the serpent. (See later my account of this symbol found at the Olympic Park.)
    • Oak Tree - sacred to the pagan Celts, to Zeus, Jupiter, Thor and all sky gods. (The name OG or OK also hides a secret reference to the most ancient representation of Lucifer.)oak tree on glastonbury
    • Laurel tree - the 'son' of Zeus, the counterfeit messiah Apollo has the laurel as his sacred tree, and thus it was a LAUREL crown was awarded at the Olympic Games; this is the "crown" on the head of the First Rider of Revelation.
    • Pine Tree - and all evergreens, symbols of fertility, sacred to Attis, and a potent Kabbalistic symbol.
    • Palm Tree - same as above but used in Assyria, Greece, Egypt and other places as a sacred tree. Indeed, the famous statue of the Ephesian goddess Artemis seems to have been carved from a palm trunk and hung with figs. The palm tree was a sacred sign of Apollo in Ancient Greece because he had been born under one in Delos. But the real secret lies in its name - PHOENIX. The name derives from a Latin form of φοῖνιξ, the Greek word for ‘date palm’, probably from φοινός, ‘red-colored’. (The World Mythology, p. 155) but this only leads back to the fire and the sun, always depicted in mythology as red.
    • Hawthorn - the hawthorn was sacred to the Celts and is still honoured by witches today. The the one that stands on Glastonbury Tor was reputedly grown from the staff of Joseph of Arimathea. It became such a superstitious relic that it was uprooted during the Reformation, yet it has been replanted several times since then.
  • FIRE-TOPPED MOUNTAIN OR HILL - In Ancient Greece the pre-eminent god of the mountain was Zeus for whom there existed nearly one hundred mountain cults. Zeus, who was born and brought up on a mountain, ruled supreme on Mount Olympus. But almost all cultures had a sacred mount - the Mesopotamia ziggurats, the pyramids in Egypt, the pre-Columbian teocallis, and the temple-mountain of Borobudur. In most cases, the tops of real and artificial mountains are the locations for sanctuaries, shrines, or altars.

This was also the case with Britain's GLASTONBURY TOR, which featured in the Opening Ceremony topped by a huge Oak Tree. [See photo above]. Glastonbury was also introduced into the theme because it is closely associated with the New Jerusalem of William Blake, the folk-lore story of the presence of the Messiah, St George of England and his "slaying of the dragon".

Sun Disc Encircles Trees

tree ringsContinuing with this theme of the shining sun-disc (and also the Oak Tree of Zeus that was prominent on its Glastonbury mound at the start of the Games) I found that a design company created ten special six-metre bronze discs for the Olympic Park, that encircled ten trees planted for the occasion.

"As a part of the celebration for the London 2012 olympic games, the ODA commissioned British Design Studio Ackroyd & Harvey. and American design consultancy PENTAGRAM to create a series of permanent pieces for over 10 different locations around the Olympic Park. A collection of 500 kg phosphored bronze and stainless steel forged rings measuring six meters in diamater lay suspended among 10 different trees, reflecting on a message that depicts the story of the way tree rings show history and age. These metal cast rings however, trace the story of the olympic site over the past few centuries, where on the inside of each ring is an inscribed double-lined vignette encapsulating a broad range of information relevant to each location".

Interestingly, the photograph accompanying this announcement revealed that the words TEMPLAR KNIGHTS had been inscribed inside. There were, however, many more poetic statements and words inscribed.

trees encircled

Nonetheless the idea of encircling the TREE with the DISC (as unlikely as it sounds) is a clear reference again to ZEUS, especially when you add the knowledge that the sun-disc is associated with the number TEN - ten trees - at which point it "represents the return to unity from multiplicity". (Cirlot's "Dictionary of Symbols".) Here once more we have the concept of world unity and multiculturalism, but not in the God of Heaven, rather in the father-god Zeus.

Some sun symbols seen throughout the ceremonies:

  • eye-in-pyramid design of the overhead lights
  • fiery disc being forged and raised up
  • waterwheel that remained throughout, eventually illuminated
  • the 'London Eye' centre stage at the closing ceremony
  • the 'cauldron' formed of the petals of many lilies
  • the cauldron petals raised to form a sun 'out of the many, one'
  • the twin mascots, each with a central eye
  • central stadium itself

Past and Present

The 2012 opening ceremony (directed by moviemaker Danny Boyle) titled Isles of Wonder was heavily influenced by Shakespeare's play The Tempest. Boyle said that he saw Prospero - the noble Magician in the Tempest - as his hero.

The musical piece played during the torch lighting ceremony was entitled "Caliban's Dream", and Caliban's monologue from Act 3, Scene ii was quoted by Kenneth Branagh in character as Isambard Kingdom Brunel at the start of the Industrial Revolution set piece; also (oddly) by a character playing Winston Churchill in the closing ceremony. The title of another specially commissioned track "And I Will Kiss" from the ceremony, is also a quote from The Tempest (2:2:148-149).

As well as these references, the huge 27-ton bell specially forged for the ceremonies was inscribed with the same verse recited at both opening and closing ceremonies:

Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,
Sounds, and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears; and sometime voices
That, if I then had waked after long sleep,
Will make me sleep again; and then in dreaming,
The clouds methought would open, and show riches
Ready to drop upon me, that when I waked
I cried to dream again.

You may wonder (as did I) what possible connection there could be. What was the relevance of a monstrous cannibal in a Shakespearian play, and the Olympics? Why is the Sorcerer Prospero Boyle's hero?

To understand, you need to know that Danny Boyle was setting up a central motif of secret philosophies represented by his choice of characters and texts. And that philosophy is alive today.

It was obliquely referenced in the Olympic logo that could be rearranged to make the word ZION, but this was not about Israel or about "zionists". It glorified the philosophy of the Enlightenment epitomised in William Blake's poem "Jerusalem" sung during the Opening. Yet that philosophy was only a resurgence of medieval cabbalistic astrology and occult theology.

John Dee

In particular, Shakespeare's Prospero was based on an Elizabethan Rosicrucian alchemist named John Dee (1527-1608), philosopher, and student of the occult. Dee attached himself to the royal court, offering instruction in the mathematical sciences to both courtiers and navigators. He also served as consultant and astrologer to, among others, Queen Elizabeth I who came to the throne in 1558.

Dee became a scientific and medical adviser to the Queen, and by the mid-1560s he established himself at Mortlake, near London, where he built a laboratory and amassed the largest private library in England with over 4,000 books. He studied astrology and alchemy and expressed conviction in the occult power of mathematics to reveal divine mysteries.

It is almost certain that William Shakespeare (1564–1616) modeled the character of Prospero in The Tempest (1611) on the career of John Dee, the Elizabethan magus.

star Please download this fascinating book that contains much more information than I can ever provide on this page. It is called "The Occult Philosophy of the Elizabethan Age" and it covers the subjects I will now refer to.

John Dee used symbols to proclaim his beliefs to other initiates, and in writing to the Queen. He used the masonic master-mason password of the two balls and crooked cane (representing Tubal-Cain of Genesis) to authenticate his missives, and this looked strikingly similar to 007. See the illustration (and this web page):

two balls and cane

Here’s an interesting quote from a website describing Dee:

One can see why some commentators have Dee associated with being the inspiration for the protagonist Prospero from The Tempest (In Latin, the name Prospero would mean, "I hope for.") Francis Yates in her seminal exploration 'Majesty and Magic in Shakespeare's Last Plays', comments, "Dare one say that the German Rosicrucian movement reaches a peak of poetic expression in The Tempest, a Rosicrucian manifesto infused with the spirit of Dee, using theatrical parables for esoteric communication?" (source)

Link between Shakespeare and James Bond

Back in the Opening Ceremony, there was a somewhat bizarre video sequence of James Bond (the modern-day 007) delivering Queen Elizabeth to the Games via helicopter. Underneath this - as we can now see from the previous text - was a clear reference to the connection between John Dee, Elizabeth the First, and Prospero of The Tempest.

James Bond is the modern 007 and accompanying Queen Elizabeth to the Games was a reference too obvious to be overlooked.
